Media Release; OPSA does it again

The Otago Polytechnic Students’ Association are ecstatic about one of their own being elected to NZUSA. Natalie Absalom, 2006 OPSA Co-President, has been elected as the National Women’s Rights Officer (NWRO) for 2007.

“It’s going to be hard work but it will be an amazing experience and I’m determined to do well,” said Ms. Absalom.

Ms. Absalom has been a member of the OPSA executive for three years including one year as Vice-President and one year as Co-President.

“Having worked with Natalie for a year, I know she is extremely passionate about the Student movement and will be an exceptional asset to NZUSA,” stated OPSA Co-President Richard Mitchell.

2007 will be the second year an OPSA President has held the National Women’s Rights Officer position.

“It’s nice to see an OPSA President take the role of National Women’s Rights Officer. This will help cement NZUSA’s commitment to representing the ITP sector well”, says Ryan Ward, 2007 OPSA Vice-President-elect.
